[ You thought your leader had abandoned you, have you? Nope. Mikado will be selectively sending out messages to anyone who responded positively or at least neutrally in the last communications (if you're unsure just ask), and the following message will greet them sometime this afternoon-- ]

Hello. It has been a while.

I hope you haven't forgotten about 'DOLLARS'.
It has come to my attention that while we have gathered a few members, we still remain faceless and nameless to each other.
I'm thinking of putting an open meeting together within the next few days.
If you have the time, I would appreciate it if you attended.

Thank you.

[ Besides that, Mikado has a more general question to ask. One that he's been meaning to ask for quite a while now. ]

Hi, um... I was wondering. If someone has no combat experience but really wants to take something up, then... where do you start? What kind of, uh... things do you recommend? I really don't know anything about this so I just... thought I'd ask.

That's just a little vague of a request, but I'll give it a shot. Learning basic close quarters is a good idea. [If anything, it'll get you an upper hand in a barfight, right? And of course, if you're fighting a weaponless enemy....] You planning on using any particular weapons? Rifles? ... Weird magic spirit stuff?

Yeah, it's probably a good idea to learn magic and weapons, if this guide's anything to go on. After all, there'll be times when you'll need one or the other. But start with a little CQC. Once you muscle up, you'll be in great shape for working your way around a decent rifle or handgun.

The hand-to-hand stuff? Well, you can do it oldschool and check out the library, see which styles you like. And when you find one, see if you can get ahold of someone who knows that around here to get some training; if they're hopefully nice enough to train you, anyway.

No problem. Since it's one of the few things I can offer some help on, I figured why the hell not, huh? Hope you get yourself someone to show you the ropes.

[oh right]

Got a name, kid?

Nice to meet you, Mikado. [It's at this point that Doyle wonders if the malnosso or whatever brings people here really, really like Japanese people.] I'm Sergeant Doyle, US Army. If you ever need any other info, just lemme' know, huh?
