[ When Mikado comes to his senses in the morning on this fine day, he realizes that he's finally no longer trapped in the Malnosso experimental holding cell, and that he's free at last. His body seems to be in good shape, and he's not of a different age or gender than what he normally is (unlike a lot of people who do get Mallynapped), so he concludes that he must have gotten off easy!

When he rolls over in what he thinks is his bed to open up his journal to announce his return, he comes into contact with another body. And practically jumps. ]

...Masaomi!?

[ There's the sound of rustling, and a sleepy moan. ] Mikado, what are you doing in my- [ . . . ] Mikado?! You're back, man!

Ah... yeah. It seems like it, hahah.

[and then there was clapping on the shoulder but wait ] ...So why are you in my bed?

[ And without missing a beat-- ] I'm gay.

[ And suddenly, the feed ends.

...So pretty much, Mikado is no longer able to tell the truth. Fortunately, this after effect will only last a day!

[He knows better. Unless he doesn't, in which case that thing with Katara is only twice as awkward. BUT he's pretty sure he's right. Confident in that, he's gonna go ahead and open the door just a crack, though he doesn't come in.]

Yo, Mikado. Wasn't expecting you.

[Masaomi's flipping it over the journals, so someone has to be causal.]

[Yeah he's just. Flipping out. and when the door is opened he's leaping out of the bed as if it were on fire or something and he's evading it for his life. which looks even ore silly in his boxers and a tank top with his florescent pink wings there]

[ Getting out of bed slowly after Masaomi, wearing his usual smile and socks on his feet. ]

Good morning, Shikamaru-san. I was just dropping by for a visit.

[Masaomi, you get a raised eyebrow for your antics. Dork. His attention quickly switches back to Mikado though. The socks don't go unnoticed.]

Literally, huh? I didn't hear anyone at the door. [Jerking a thumb back over his shoulder, presumably in the direction of said door.]

[FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH HE IS NOT GAY OKAY.

I took stealth training with the Malnosso. [ smiling uncomfortably at Shikamaru. Since he's got such sharp eyes, it's quite obvious that Mikado is Not Okay with the words that are coming out of his mouth.

But he's going to keep saying stuff like that anyway. ]

...right.

[Yeah, he's definitely off. Shikamaru doesn't mention it for now, processing things in the back of his head first for now, and turns his attention back to the other guy in the room.]

Yo, Masaomi. You need some privacy to have your nervous breakdown [and possibly finish getting dressed] or are you good?

Eeeeh, aren't I fine?

[HE SAID AS HE PUT ON SOCKS WITH TREMBLING HANDS . . . ]

[ Watching the exchange for now. It's very clear to him that Masaomi is Not Okay with all of this (and neither is he, for that matter), and best decides it's high time to get home. So he picks up his journal and sort of... stands there awkwardly. ]

Ah... I think I'm going to head over to the rec center for now.

[Yup, he's guessing the same. Which sucks because he doesn't know Mikado as well as Masaomi does, so figuring what's up here will be more difficult than it could have been. Ugh.

Best way to fix that though is to at least get Mikado out of the room, which seems to be his intention despite just standing around anyways. Acting as if this situation isn't half as serious as the thoughts going through his head, Shikamaru just rolls his eyes at Masaomi and gestures for Mikado to follow him.]

Rec center, huh? [Out of the room now.] You know, I was heading out that way myself. Stick around for a sec - I can get you a Mountain Dew and walk with you.

[ Not quite the rec center, but... home is on the way so guess it works out. He gives Shikamaru a little smile. He doesn't like Mountain Dew but... IT'S NOT LIKE HE CAN REFUSE. ]

Oh, thanks. I'd like that.

[He is... getting used to it. BUT OKAY. Quick stop at the kitchen on the way out...

Shikamaru actually considers casting a genjutsu as they're out the door. Something harmless to make the numbers on it appear to be something else. He has some suspicions about Mikado, but without talking to Masaomi, that's all they are.

That he's Masaomi's best friend is what makes him decide against it, in the end. He'll give him the benefit of the doubt, for that. Until this Dollars stuff came up, he's been pretty chill about Mikado anyways.]

[He opens the fridge.]

Huh, lucky. Looks like someone went out and got something else to drink, so you have options.

[He pulls out two cans - one the promised Mountain Dew, and one some other generic drink that is not Mountain Dew - and holds them out with a grin.] Your pick.

Hmm... [ He ponders for a moment. Well, it seems like he's able to act on his own will so far, but not say anything he's thinking. And even then, what he says doesn't seem to affect his actions too much, but he can't be entirely sure.

So he opts not to say anything and reaches for the other generic drink instead. ] Thank you.

[He gets a handwave meant as a 'you're welcome' and takes a can for himself, popping it open. Out they go, then? Or they can stay to finish - he doesn't care either way.]
