[ So Valentine's Day doesn't particularly mean much to Mikado, except that it's February 14th. That means he's been in Luceti for roughly three months and... things are starting to become routine. He's gotten used to the wings, meeting people who aren't human or have different standards or have strange-sounding jobs are starting to feel normal. The experiments are a nice break from the routine, but he's afraid that one day he's going to find that normal as well. He's starting to notice himself adjusting to this exotic land and it's scaring him a little bit.

More than that though, he's really homesick. Lately he finds himself comparing everything in Luceti to something from home, and just more frustrated knowing that he's not able to go home at will. The most recent experiment was just a blow to the face--seeing Anri after what felt like forever just made him realize how incomplete he feels without her around. Romantic feelings aside, he's sure that this homesickness wouldn't be so bad if all three of them were back together again.

Basically? Adjusting is a bitch. ]

[ Managing a smile and leaning closer on to him, studying his face.

Part of the logic in the back of his head is so confused as to why he's suddenly so incredibly affectionate to someone he barely even knows, much less a guy. Part of him is like "just get up and go home!!!" but he actually can't bear to stand the thought.

Whatever, he's so happy right now it's like nothing else matters. ]

[ happiness is important in a place like this.

shuri closes the distance between them. ]

[ oh god oh god oh god this is his first kiss ever, brb while his brain tries to make sense of what is going on here ]

[ He'll calm down after half a second and decide, hey, this actually isn't that bad, and he'll tilt his head a little, leaning into it more.

The movie is entirely forgotten. ]

[ reaching up to lightly stroke mikado's hair. he may feel bad about stealing your first kiss later, but for now it's probably the best experience of his life. ]

[ He sighs and whatever tension he had is completely gone. He unwraps one of his arms from the pillow and reaches around the back of Shuri's waist, trying to pull him a little closer. This must be like heaven or something. ]

[ closer he goes. he loops his arms around mikado's waist.

and after a while, he'll be pulling back, letting his forehead rest against mikado's. ]

[ Mikado opens his eyes again when their foreheads touch, and spends the next few moments just. looking at Shuri. His face is flushed and he just can't wipe the smile off of his face. ]

S-Shuri-senpai...

[ smiiiile. ] Just Shuri is fine.

[ He nods. ] ...Shuri.

[ And leaning in again for another kiss, this time dropping the pillow and placing his other hand on Shuri's opposite shoulder. ]

[ no arguments here. it's all gentle and closed mouth with only the purest of intentions. but, after this event, mikado. you'll be a pro at kissing. ]

[ No kidding, man!

But since Mikado's still kind of new at this, he's not exactly sure what to do next. He pulls away but doesn't waste a second to rest his head on Shuri's shoulder, and adjusts his arms so that he holds him tighter. ]

[ better not to go too fast. shuri's read ~~gossip magazines~~ enough to know that it's a bad thing. people can burn out!

but he'll settle for snuggling. ]

[ That went pretty fast for Mikado at least, he tilts his head a little to look at Shuri as best he can. ]

...I-Is this... okay?

[ think. think. think.

he leans forward and kisses mikado's forehead. ]

I think that this is perfect.

[ And that sends his stomach into flutters and his face just goes completely red again. He snuggles closer and holds him tighter. Life is really good right now. ]

[ it really is. shuri cuddles him closer. ]
