[ So Valentine's Day doesn't particularly mean much to Mikado, except that it's February 14th. That means he's been in Luceti for roughly three months and... things are starting to become routine. He's gotten used to the wings, meeting people who aren't human or have different standards or have strange-sounding jobs are starting to feel normal. The experiments are a nice break from the routine, but he's afraid that one day he's going to find that normal as well. He's starting to notice himself adjusting to this exotic land and it's scaring him a little bit.

More than that though, he's really homesick. Lately he finds himself comparing everything in Luceti to something from home, and just more frustrated knowing that he's not able to go home at will. The most recent experiment was just a blow to the face--seeing Anri after what felt like forever just made him realize how incomplete he feels without her around. Romantic feelings aside, he's sure that this homesickness wouldn't be so bad if all three of them were back together again.

Basically? Adjusting is a bitch. ]

Yes, that's true, but I think people now don't really rely on the enemy's looks when they're fighting them... [ Slightly surprised at the new topic. He doesn't pay attention to serious war stuff so he doesn't really know. Gang wars, on the other hand... ]

Mm. It just seems more reliable than uniforms. [ he doesn't think about combat stuff much. but this is a new thing he's never thought of before. how do other worlds fight wars, and if they do, how do they know who they're fighting and what do they do when they've won? ]

[ nodding in thought. That's true--uniforms itself can cause problems, what if the enemy gets their hands on the uniform? Or what if the enemy didn't have a uniform to begin with?

...But this isn't the time to be talking about fighting! Picking up the crumbs of the muffin. ]

Okay! [ Getting up and putting his jacket back on, standing at the end of the table and waiting for Shuri to get ready to go. ]

[ and he hops up, sliding his jacket on in one quick movement. ] Let's go!

[ Going on ahead and holding the door open for Shuri, and waiting as he passes through.

Afterwards, he'll go ahead and walk right next to him. Like, three inches of space between them. Oh yes. ]

[ AND ON AND ON THEY WALK.

this feels somewhat awkward. hm.

hey. hey. mikado. this hand of yours? is going to be held. ]

Freezing for a little bit, not exactly sure what to do. Oh my god this is really happening ]

[ Annnnd taking the hand and holding it a little tighter.

But looking away because his face is really red. It comes with being pale or something, idk ]

[ and this just feels right. he gives the other boy's hand a gentle squeeze.

with any luck, his housemates won't be home and he won't need to deal with them and their possible trolling. he just hopes his room is clean, otherwise it would leave a bad impression... ]

[ Luckily Mikado is too busy concentrating on the fact that he is holding someone's hands to be bothered by a messy room. His head is swimming all over the place and the only real coherent thought he has is OH MY GOODNESS SHURI. Basically.

So he's just following. Lalala. ]

[ it's that haze of happy oak sparkles. he hums and pulls the other boy right on to his house.

and for convenience's sake, they're going to sneak on home. ]

And if he catches your eye, Shuri? Have a smile. This relationship totally needs no words. ]

[ no words at all. he just feels so lucky. he smiles brightly in return.

for christmas he got a nice, big, tv/dvd player! so they can watch these movies in style. sadly, the options are shuri's bed, or his floor. ]

[ Well Mikado is not going to just plop down on the floor there, so he'll tentatively place himself at the edge of the bed, looking around curiously. Alarm bells are going off in his head like THIS IS DANGEROUS but pffff. ]

So... Which one are we going to watch?

[ shuri reluctantly lets go of that hand and retrieves his movies, holding them out in a fan. ]

Pick one.

[ He looks them over thoughtfully actually trying to pick out a movie. Maybe something action. Those movies are always fun. Though it doesn't really occur to him that they might not be actually watching it.

He points to one with an interesting cover. ]

Umm... How about this?

[ ~~BY THE WAY YOU PICKED DRAGONBALL EVOLUTION~~ no. it's some action movie with bruce willis in it. shuri flips the case over and nods to himself, pops it in the dvd player and bounces down onto his bed next to mikado. ]

[ ~~NOOOOO~~ So he's watching the movie and he feels kind of awkward just. sitting there. Especially when Shuri's presence is RIGHT THERE and it's really distracting.

So... he grabs a pillow and decides to lie down on his stomach and watch the movie this way. Better. He feels a lot less awkward now. ]

[ oh, mikado. shuri's paying attention. sort of. but he's more interested in getting close and comfy because he doesn't care about personal space and he'd really rather feel comfortable and cozy.

[ So Mikado's made himself comfy and doesn't really mind now that his shoulder is probably all up in Shuri's thigh's business. The movie is mildly interesting. He's seen better. ]

Hmm... I didn't think that was possible... [ mumble mumble ]

[ he's totally playing with your hair, mikado. not minding the closeness at all.

headtilt. ] Ehh... That's not easy.

[ Totally melting at the touch. Also, kind of getting sleepy. His head might be heading in the direction of your knee. ]

Mm... It's probably special effects.

[ scooting closer. your hair is surprisingly soft for all it's spikiness, mikado. ]
