[ When Mikado finally comes to, he realizes that he's no longer in that uncomfortable Malnosso cell, but rather sprawled out even more uncomfortably in the snow. It takes a few moments for it to register that he's finally out and in the familiar scenery of the town square.
Well, he's not sure how long he's been in the snow; his pajamas are soaked and he is freezing. He would have just shot up and quickly made his way home as fast as he could (oh god, how much have Masaomi and Frey and Celty worried?!), taken a warm bath then wrapped himself in blankets and gotten a proper sleep. Would have is the key word here.
He manages to get his upper body out of the snow but for some reason, his legs won't move. Oh no, was he out so long that he got frostbite?! What would happen if they had to amputate his legs? Would he be able to get prosthetic ones?! Did Luceti even have that technology? He tries to pull up his pant legs to see the extent of the damage, but his fingers are so numb he just fumbles.
Thank god there's a conveniently placed journal nearby, right? ]

M-Masa...omi? Are you there? ...Frey-s-san, and Celt-t-ty-san, anyone?
...
I'm, I'm by the f-fountain. I... can't move.

... oh dear. This gives him an idea of exactly how far the paralysis goes, but he had hoped that Mikado would be able to manage by himself. Some paraplegics manage just fine with a little effort, but this is not the case here.
So have a gown draped concealing over certain things once it becomes clear that things aren't going to be managed by themselves.]
Here. [It's a gentle smile because Law can certainly understand what helplessness feels like. He holds open the gown so Mikado can slip his arms into it.] I'll take care of the rest of it, okay?
no subject
Oh, ah, yes. Thank you.

[Once the hospital gown is tied up, Law goes and quickly and efficently works the pants off as he does so. He visually inspects the limbs as he does so... pink, flushed with blood as they warm, and not a sign of frostbite or even frostnip.
He doesn't linger looking, instead he neatly folds the pants and puts them to the side. One gloved hand opens the curtain, and he looks to the door Celty left by.]
You can come back in now, Miss.
no subject
[because the last thing they need is for Mikado to lose some limbs now.]
Masaomi -> Frey -> Mikado -> Law -> Celty ...Unless changes are needed.
Eeeh, we're later. Sorry.
Masaomi -> Frey -> Mikado -> Law -> Celty
[He'll also look at the doctor, not sizing him up, but relieved to find someone on duty.] Thank you for attending him, Sir.
ok
...Wow, there are a lot of people he's going to have to thank so far. ]
Frey-san! Masaomi...!
Re: ok
[To Celty and Mikado before the other two come in:] There's no frostbite, thankfully, just exposure. Nothing life threatening or requiring anything extreme. When I looked, I could find no sign of tissue damage and the blood supply feeding both limbs is normal. There should be no problem with them themselves down the road. My immediate concern here is treating that exposure... and any dehydration and hypoglycemia brought on by hypothermia. Which means ensuring that you, Mister Mikado, continue to warm up, and perhaps running a warmed drip to restore your glucose and electrolyte balance once I do your bloodwork and that's called for. Otherwise hot chicken soup and a glass of orange juice will go a long way to curing any ills on that end.
[Picking up the thermometer and wiping the head with a disinfectant wipe...
...
Aa... hello... who may you two be?]
Aa, hello gentlemen... thank you, but just one moment please...
... [And we are back to addressing Celty and Mikado, though it's more of a group addressment now.]
One thing to be aware of, however, is that your immune system will be depressed thanks to the exposure and likely will be for a little while. If you go home after this, you're going to need to stay indoors and limit your contact to people less you fall ill, Mister Mikado. Ensure you get plenty of sleep... the faster your immune system gets back on its feet, the better.
As for the paralysis itself, I'll need to run an X-ray to be sure, but given that I saw no signs of surgery or trauma, my presumptive guess is that the spinal cord is intact and that the Malnosso are blocking the nerve impulses from reaching the brain. It's hard to say exactly how at the moment, though I very much doubt that drugs are involved at the least...
So Mister Mikado, I'm going to start by taking your vitals and some bloodwork and we'll go from there, alright?
[There's that thermometer - time to take your temperature. Then it's time to measure blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate... yes, the penlight of doom will be involved, shining in your eyes as he measures your responsiveness to stimuli.
Your finger will be pricked at one point so your blood glucose levels can be measured on a glucometer.
Everything charted down.
And then, of course, it'll be time for the needles.]

Her helmet turns towards Frey and Mikado as they come in. What took you two so long?]
no subject
...He can tell just at a glance that while this guy is probably a doctor or at least a convincing medical official what with that jargon that's not all he is and it's making him a little on guard. In a place like Luceti that figures (hell, even in Ikebukuro that would figure) but that doesn't do much to soothe his current paranoia.
He's just trying not to let that show too much for him]
no subject
So will he be staying here, if he needs to stay away from people....? Or can he go back to the apartment....? [So predictable, Frey.]
no subject
Though keeping Mikado away from people? Psh, that's just asking him to hermit like he always does. Nothing new.
He nods to the last question and just lets the doctor do his work. Ho hum. ]
no subject
He's just going to label these tubes of blood he's collected, and glance up only after he's written the pertinent data on the chart.]
[To Frey:] Yes he can go back to the appartment after this, as long as someone stays with him at all times, and the number of visitors is kept to a bare minimun.
I would like to keep him here for a few hours for observation to make sure he's stable, but that ultimately is up to Mister Mikado.
[Watch away, Masaomi, Law doesn't much mind. The levels of paranoia in this room are at pretty normal levels, so he keeps going about his business.
Next step: continue passive rewarming. More blankets are needed (as well as some orange juice: the glucose levels aren't too bad but Mikado still needs fuel to burn to get warm). There should be some ones in the other room. The linens were recently laundered and autoclaved, so they should be fresh and still warm from the sterilizer.
... and he needs to get the portable x-ray machine as well.]
[To all:]
If you'll excuse me for one moment; I have to get these tests running. I'll be back in a moment with some more blankets and something for Mister Mikado to drink.

...Yeah, I'm glad too. Thanks you guys.
[ Luceti is a pretty terrible place (of course his opinion went down after that kidnapping) but he has people like this. woohoo!! ]
no subject
Don't mind him... he's just doing his job. Nothing to see back there.
He's totally not keeping an ear on the conversation, promise.]

Ah, really? I'm not that heavy, if it's not too... [ trailing off here. Maybe he's asked for too much now.
Ah well, either way he plans on not leaving his room/the apartment until he can move by himself again. Things like this cause others too much trouble. Really. ]

He'll be right with you.]

[as for the other request.. she puts a hand to the chin of her helmet, and stares at the ground beside the bed for a moment... until the shadows form into a nice wheelchair shape. Completely black, of course, but she can't do much about the color.]
